Benefits: Eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or salary increases in accordance with company policy.
Salary: $71,000 CAD per annum

Duties:
Setting up client accounts in accounting system (primarily Xero) and our data extraction tool Hubdocs, with our standardized chart of accounts;
Developing an understanding of the client’s business;
Assume responsibility for each client to execute monthly bookkeeping, HST filings, and tax compliance including the preparation of annual returns;
Reconciling bank and credit card accounts, reviewing and approving inputting of bills using Hubdocs, and creating sales invoices and manage payments;
Liaising with the Canada Revenue Agency and relevant provincial ministries on client issues;
Preparing journal entries and preparation of monthly financial statements including reconciliating the various accounts;
Calculating fixed assets and depreciation;
Providing support to clients on general questions regarding bookkeeping and tax issues;
Completing and submitting tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents;
Preparing Individual and Corporate tax returns and forms
Preparing other statistical, financial and accounting reports.
Requirements:
Completion of a College Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting is required
2-3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping is required
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and Word
Strong proficiency with accounting software Xero, Simply Accounting, data extraction tools, and taxprep software
Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Passion for learning new skills and technology applications
